  • Overview

    The primary focus of this position is to recruit for open corporate roles, field management positions, and proposed business. The individual will work in a high volume, fast-paced environment, with ever-changing requisition types.  This position will report to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition and is based in our Lombard, IL office.


    Based near Chicago, Transdev is the largest private-sector operator of multiple modes of transit in North America, including bus, rail, paratransit, shuttle, and sedan and taxi services.     • Pro-actively understand hiring managers needs and provide high communication and follow up to candidates, internal colleagues and hiring managers.
    • Manage candidates through an applicant tracking system (iCIMS) to disposition status on a regular basis.
    • Maintain accurate staffing metrics, reports and KPI’s on all recruitment activities.
    • Must have extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
    • Assist with startup efforts (mass hiring initiatives for new contracts requiring overnight travel and the onboarding of 50-500 employees as part of a team); typically, 1-2 times a year but as business needs dictate.
    • Periodically act as a consultant to field Human Resources to evaluate local recruitment processes, strategies, and resources.  
    • Other Talent Acquisition projects, as assigned. 
    • The Recruiter is responsible for full life-cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, testing and managing candidates through the hiring process.  
    • Considerable skill needed in various sourcing methodologies, interviewing techniques and must be up to date on latest recruitment trends in the industry and social media.
    • Consultative skills needed to build candidate relationships, evaluate and recommend candidates for both current openings and building a talent bench.  


    Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience, with some in a corporate setting.
    • Strong experience with ATS systems and technical proficiency.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; LinkedIn Recruiter; Boolean Searches and other sourcing techniques.
    • Proven experience with various sourcing methodologies, must be comfortable with cold calling passive candidates and utilizing creative techniques to source candidates.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to face problems with pro-active recommendations for solutions.
    • Must be extremely perceptive and can related to individuals at all levels, sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the public image.
    • Must have strong customer service skills; ability to self-direct and have proven time management skills.
    • Ability to research and source passive candidates.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues, hiring managers, and the public.
    • Previous experience working with recruiting and talent programs is a plus (campus recruiting, military recruiting, workforce diversity initiatives and/or other talent pipeline programs).
    • Must be willing to travel, including air travel overnight, approximately 20% to any of our locations across North America (primarily domestic).


    Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferable or any combination of education and experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Most work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
    • Work is accomplished in an office environment equipped with a telephone and computer.
    • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
