    Responsibilities

    • Primary responsibilities of the Field Quality Control Specialist will consist of field assignments, and field data collection of bus routes, to help improve route trends, performance metrics
    • Develop case studies based on bus routes and patterns
    • Supports the development of standard on time performance reports.
    • Provides recommendations regarding field data accuracy and field data collection needs and processes.
    • Continuously assesses and improves data collection and reporting processes.
    • Understand the route planner and transportation system analysis using mapping, database, etc.
    • Frequent Interaction and communicating with clients
    • Responsible for interfacing with Performance Analytics team.
    • Works with designated department to assess, define, and develop report deliverables to meet internal and customer requirements.
    • Works with yard(s) to identify opportunities to enhance existing routes
    • Works from multiple location within the school district of Boston
    • Coordinates or independently completes special projects.
    • Assists staff members with more complex and detailed projects including root cause analysis, trended reporting and analyses which support continuous quality improvement leading to actionable information.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

    • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).  College coursework preferred
    • Must be a licensed motor vehicle operator with a valid drivers license and provide a satisfactory driving record

     

    Experience:                          

    • Transit-related experience and/or knowledge of managing databases and conducting data analysis
    • 2 years of the above experiences preferred

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required:                   

    • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence as well as reports.  Ability to effectively present information one-on-one, with small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 
    • PC Proficiency with various software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access databases.
    • Must be able to read a map and possess knowledge of the Boston area.
    • Ability to work all shifts including early mornings (5:00 a.m.), evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Environment:  

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. This position also will be performed on-site in a professional office setting that is well lighted, climate controlled, dust and smoke free. Building and work area is fully ADA accessible. Some light lifting may be necessary.
