  • Overview

    The Senior Retirement Plan Analyst is a Corporate role and will be the primary national functional resource responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day administration of the company’s U.S. national retirement benefit plans, non-qualified retirement plan administration, and support properties with the company and union-sponsored retirement plans. 


    In this role, the Senior Retirement Plan Analyst will regularly utilize advanced technical skills to perform reporting and analysis related to the reconciliation and integrity of the 401k data, testing of processes and systems design, identifying and implementing process improvement, and conducting detailed audits to ensure the retirement plans are consistently administered and in compliance with the Plan documents and government regulations. 


    • Responsible for oversight of all local plan administration.
    • Auditing funding timing by the local properties and governance checklist to ensure proper administration practices by the locations.
    • Works independently and closely with HRIS group in setting up new properties, complex contribution and eligibility changes, reporting and process improvements, and maintaining eligibility mapper. Audits and tests changes.
    • Supports management with the internal administration of the non-qualified Retirement Plans.
    • Prepares and updates process documentation, works with HRIS on reporting needed by locations to administer union or locally sponsored plans.
    • Trains locations on day-to-day work related to their locally administered plans.
    • Monitors Collective Bargaining Agreements renewal cycles and assists with retirement costs requested in bargaining and match standardization.
    • Project manages annual compliance filings including 5500’s, non-discrimination testing with 401(k) recordkeeper, and annual audits for ERISA plans with external audit.
    • Evaluates plan operations with management and the 401(k) recordkeepers; identifies areas for process improvement.
    • Conducts periodic audits to ensure internal controls effectively mitigate risk; performs ongoing compliance projects as needed.
    • Resolves data/reporting issues with multiple disciplines (including HRIS, Payroll and Benefits).
      Other duties as assigned.


    Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

    • Associates degree, required.


    Education Preferred:

    • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.


    Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:

    • 5+ years experience in Employee Benefits functions with working knowledge of retirement plan administration and compliance.
    • Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing significant process and system changes, including system updates and experience maintaining Retirement administration applications and interfacing with Human Resource Information and Payroll Systems.
    • Strong analytical, organization and project management skills, attention to detail with an emphasis on quality control of data.
    • Proven ability to clearly and effectively communicate in person and in writing to all levels of organization and external customers and other third parties.
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel included pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s for data aggregation and reporting, and PowerPoint presentation preparation.
    • ADP experience strongly desired; payroll experience preferred.


    Experience preferred:

    • Experience in the service or manufacturing industry preferred. Experience in a union environment preferred.

    • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
    • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
