    Pay:     $30.00/Hour

    ASE Bonus potential: $3000.00 annually

    The Swing Shift Maintenance Supervisor, oversees mechanics, assigns work, and monitors work quality on a specific Swing shift. Ensures compliance with all bus PMI and maintenance performed on their assigned shift, provide QA inspections on mechanics work. Also, oversees utility night crew fueling, washing, and GFI probing activities.


    Supervises mechanics and utilities; monitors outside contract laborers

    • Establishes priority of maintenance and repairs based on availability of materials and parts and requirements of scheduled operations
    • Schedule work for technicians, monitor work flow on Swing shift.
    • Ensure proper documentation perform Q A inspections on completed work to verify compliance with all maintenance policies and procedures.
    • Review all work orders for proper posting of parts and completeness including mechanics work time and notes.
    • Adjust work assignments throughout shift as needed.
    • DVIR repairs inspections and repairs assignments throughout the shift as needed.
    • Assist with repairs of Diesel Transit buses as needed
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Collects DVIRs, assigns and inspects repairs throughout the shift as needed. 


    Other duties as required.

    • May be required to lift up to 75 pounds


    Pre-Employment Requirements:

    • Must submit to drug testing, physical examination, and a criminal background check


    Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED
    • Must be age 21 or older
    • Must possess a Commercial Driving License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements
    • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred 


    • 3 years or more of progressively responsible experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of automotive and transit equipment including supervisory experience


    Skills and Knowledge Required:

    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy duty transportation vehicles
    • Familiarity with laws/regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance facilities
    • Ability to read, interpret and apply documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to read schematics, and other mechanical and/or electrical diagrams
    • Ability to read and write routine reports, forms, and other documentation or correspondence
    • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Working knowledge and proficiency with AccessWorks M-5 and FleetWatch maintenance programs preferred.
    • Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details


    Tools, Equipment and Vehicles Used:

    • Computer, printer, 2-way radio, telephone, fax, coach and fleet vehicles, forklift, CFAC lifts, hand tools; uniforms are worn.


    Unique Working Conditions:

    • Works outside in extreme weather conditions, is around fumes/odors and chemicals, and is around heavy machinery and safety hazards.
