  • Overview

    Provides technical and operational analysis and review for the company’s transit, NEMT, Streetcar and Business Solutions (B2B) business units.  Once reviewed and solutions are generated, the incumbent has responsibility to work with the RVPs, AVPs, GMs, controllers and other senior operations leaders to implement necessary changes and monitor and measure efficiency improvements and action plans completion.  The role is diagnostic and collaborative to foster a clear understanding of business improvement levers and to breed positive change and improvements throughout specific contracts or the entire organization support functions.


    • In collaboration with the VP of Financial Reporting and Analytics and VP Finance from each division, this role employs & develops proper operating models, methods, systems and structure to deliver the financial performance targets.
    • Understands the transit & Business Solutions (B2B) business unit goals and long-term plan, executes the operational plans within this context, and implement the Performance program (TOM) throughout Transdev North America (all divisions).
    • Works with field operations and corporate teams to ensure the proper development of an efficient infrastructure necessary to gain important strides versus our competition and compared to prior years. Maintains necessary internal relationships to ensure a balance of operational need & specialty function support – primarily with IT and finance, but also with Maintenance (helping to monitor & manage expenditures), HR (training and recruiting) and with Safety (as necessary to improve efficiencies).
    • Develop new tools and reporting dashboards to enhance operational performance and train the teams on how to use those tools. Ensure consistency between the various dashboards developed (Operations, Recruitment, Safety, Maintenance) and implement changes to the “Vision” website, in order to provide better tools to our General Managers, AVPs and RVPs.
    • Support RVPs and their GMs to develop operational plan and follow implementation and execution of these plans within Task Manager.
    • Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and reports results; partners with finance, legal, HR, maintenance, purchasing, safety, and other functional areas to ensure efficiency. Once results are reported, collaborates with departments to develop action plans and supports implementation of those plans.
    • Coordinates with the Paris corporate office to ensure standardization at Transdev Group level of the performance management programs and processes implemented in the North America (USA and Canada).
    • Communicates the efficiency gains throughout the organization, and to implement and share best practices.
    • Develops operational procedures and standards to be implemented within the different divisions.
    • Ensure development of Run cuts throughout the organization, improvements and applications of SOPs, report on efficiencies gain, evaluate new software for the Runcut team to support the field.
    • Improve Dispatching standards and QA locations’ timekeeping and Dispatching practices through the VDS implementation team.
    • In collaboration with Lean project leader, support the rollout of Lean management throughout Transdev locations.
    • Other duties as required.


    Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Foreign Equivalent or another equivalent bachelor’s degree required.

    • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.



    • 6-8 years of management experience at progressively higher level roles required.
    • 3-5 years of experience with operational oversight required.
    • Experience in a Director or Vice President level in Finance or Operations in a medium-size to large company with multiple-location reporting is preferred.
    • Solid background in Lean six sigma preferred
    • Mobility company experience preferred.


    Skills and Knowledge Required:

    • Thorough understanding of operations, processes and business metrics.
    • Strong relationship-builder with strong track record of delivery of proposed KPI improvements. This includes ability to analyze and act upon complex business issues and ensures sound, practical and effective decisions are employed.   
    • Outstanding ability to communicate at all levels within and outside of the organization.
    • Develops & mentors team of indirect reports.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite application (Excel, Access, PowerBI, etc.)


    Preferably located in the Chicagoland area, and or remote with the ability to travel to the corporate location and attend meetings at various field locations (50%+); mostly domestic but occasional international travel may be required.
