    Under limited supervision, the Parts Clerk supports maintenance and facilities by providing parts, safety equipment, operating supplies, fuels, and lubricants.  The parts clerk also receives maintains the inventory records and dispensing the parts and materials to other workers at the facility. The parts clerk must transact materials into the RTA database when receiving parts.

    Responsibilities

     

     

    1. Pull, stage, and issue parts and supplies to mechanics.
    2. Prepare PMI and other maintenance task kits to reduce parts retrieval time and improve technician labor efficiency.
    3. Enter all part receipts and issues into the RTA inventory management system
    4. Perform inventory cycle counting.
    5. Screen and return warrantable parts to disposition warehouse for claims.
    6. Receive material from vendors or interdivisional transfers and places items in their assigned groups and proper location.
    7. Pull, tag, and package material for shipment to vendors or for interdivisional transfers.
    8. Create requisitions for the purchase of material.
    9. Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • High School degree or GED preferred.
    • 1-2 years parts experience preferred.
    • Valid drivers’ license required.
    • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
    • Union experience preferred.
    • Must be a team player and able to work well with others.
    • Proven computer literacy.
    • Must be detailed/math oriented and possess attention to detail.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
    • Must be able to work under pressure.
    • Problem solver preferred.
    • Heavy lifting required.

    • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to work 50% indoors and 50% out of doors.
