  • Overview

    The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, communicating, conducting and documenting training of new and existing employees and enforcing the safety policies and procedures at the transit location in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

     

    This is for proposed business all offers are contingent upon Transdev's award of the contract.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops and conducts training of new and existing employees.
    • Ensures a consistent safety culture at the location by conducting safety training and meetings to ensure all staff are adequately trained and understands safety and security standards.
    • Files documents, forms and records information in employees training files; ensures that all files are completed.
    • Ensures contract compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and Transdev/client policies.
    • Oversees the successful completion of all safety related audits at location.

    Qualifications

    Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a transit environment of similar size and scope.
    • Ability to compose basic letters and memos.
    • Ability to use standard business office equipment.
    • Ability to use basic Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint program functions.
    • Ability to understand and follow safety rules and regulations; ability to update employee safety and training records.
    • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups.
    • Travel requirement (as a percent): <10% travel between properties and for meetings and outside training

     

    Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.

     

    Pre-employment Requirements:

    • Must submit to drug testing and a criminal background check.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
    • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
    • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
    • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
