    The Communications Coordinator position reports to the Manager, Marketing & Communications and is responsible for identifying community and passenger needs with regard to the transit system's image, availability, and services.  The individual will develop and maintain all marketing campaigns, monitoring their success, and reporting.  The person will work in a team environment to ensure the overall success of the transit system in meeting consumer needs.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Designs marketing and promotional materials for the company.
    • Edits all promotional materials prior to distribution.
    • Distributes print and online marketing materials.
    • Maintains company presence on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.
    • Analyzes company’s social media and online presence.
    • Contributes to company blog or website.
    • Assists in redesigning company website as necessary.
    • Organizes and oversees promotional events.
    • Writes content for vehicles such as newsletters, informational signings, power point presentations, etc.
    • Researches ways to reach a wider consumer base, either online or in print.
    • Advises company directors or managers on ways to improve or update public image.
    • Ensures that all promotional materials are aligned with company’s brand identity.

    Qualifications

      • 1 – 3 years of experience in graphic design, communication design or comparable media experience required.
      • Must provide a portfolio with writing examples and graphics design examples
      • Bachelor’s, Associate’s or Certificate Program a plus.
      • Strong writing and editing skills required.
      • Results oriented & ability to demonstrate improvements associated with marketing ideas
      • Strong presentation skills essential.
      • Hands-on, "get it done" style and strong organization skills essential.
      • Ability to work effectively with outside agencies, designers and production teams.
      • Familiar with publishing programs like Adobe and InDesign.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
      • Exhibits knowledge of company identity, mission, goals, and direct competitors
     

    Travel requirement (as a percent): <5% for occasional meeting
