  • Overview

    The Sr. Retirement Plan Analyst will be the primary national functional resource responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company’s U.S. non-union and union national retirement benefit plans, non-qualified retirement plan administration, and support properties with company and union-sponsored retirement plans. 

     

    In this role, the Sr. Retirement Plan Analyst will regularly utilize advanced technical skills to perform reporting and analysis related to the reconciliation and integrity of the 401k data, testing of processes and systems design, identifying and implementing process improvement, and conducting detailed audits to ensure the retirement plans are consistently administered and in compliance with the Plan documents and government regulations. 

    Responsibilities

    • Timely preparation, auditing and submission of data files for weekly retirement plan contributions, loans and eligibility data.  Coordinate and prepare payroll uploads for any corrections required to submit to payroll team.
    • Lead weekly meetings with National Payroll and HRIS managers to discuss upcoming retirement design changes, payroll processing errors, upcoming projects, and process improvements.
    • Responsible for coordinating, reviewing RFPs for benefits related details, tracking and communications between the Health & Welfare/Retirement Benefits Team and Business Development for bid renewals and new business opportunities.
    • Creation/updating of plan documentation, process documentation, coordinate annual 5500 retirement audits and compliance reporting, SPD mailings, other financial and statistical reports as required from local to national requests.
    • Provide national support including strong customer service via fielding calls, responding to service issues, supporting the locations and employees.
    • Responsible for the ADP data integrity as it relates to the Retirement Plans.
    • Highly technical utilization of systems to prepare and run ad hoc reports and audits of large amounts of data/records on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis from company systems/vendors and identifying and resolving discrepancies as necessary.  This frequently involves updating systems tables and plan/participant coding to ensure the automated processes run accurately.
    • Key contributor to start-ups/property closures, including updating plan documentation, employee communications, technical systems automation updates and instructing HRIS on programming of new retirement designs.
    • Communicate distributions to Finance and Payroll for the non-qualified plans and assist with the annual enrollment process.
    • Work with vendors on data integrity and scope of services.
    • Track and update weekly meeting project list.
    • Update and maintain 70+multi-location report that details all of the different retirement plan design features by property and employee group.  This process requires communication with the properties and labor negotiation group to obtain the signed CBAs and learn of upcoming changes.
    • Communicate escalated issues, questions and assistance needed to Manager of Retirement Plans.
    • Assists in the design and implementation of centralized retirement benefit plans, programs, and procedures.
    • Coordinate plan-to-plan transfers and plan mergers.
    • Research emerging market trends and changes in the regulatory environment.
    • Reviews compliance with governmental guidelines, applicable laws and regulations.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
    • Other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.

    Education Preferred:

    • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.

    Experience:

    • Five to seven years’ experience in a Benefits, Financial and/or Systems Analyst role.

    Experience preferred:

    • Experience in the service or manufacturing industry preferred. Experience in a union environment preferred.

    Skills and Knowledge Required:

    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, required
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and changing environment
    • Ability to work with confidential information is essential and confidentiality required
    • Good understanding of Benefit laws and regulations preferred
    • Experience administering multiple plans within the same company preferred
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to develop and execute benefit communications
    • Ability to work well with all employees and management; strong customer service focus

    Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent) 10%

    • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
    • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
