  • Overview

    The Assistant Administrative Manager develops and maintains accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Addresses general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. May advise management on matters such as effective use of resources and control of expenditures. Under the direction of the Administrative Manager, the stated position has the authority, in the interest of Transdev, to hire, transfer, suspend, lay-off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline other employees, or responsibly to direct them, or to adjust their grievances, or effectively to recommend such action, if in connection with the foregoing the exercise of such authority is not of a merely or clerical nature, but requires the use of independent judgement.


    Responsibilities

    • Actively participates in the month-end close process, prepare journal entries, reconciliation and analysis.
    • Prepare journal entries for recurring expenses, accruals, allocated expenses, and/or other adjusting entries.
    • Timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with internal controls.
    • Collaborate with other cross-functional departments to ensure timeliness of data.
    • Proactively identify, develop, and implement process improvements, documenting procedures to achieve efficiencies and scalability.
    • Pick up ad-hoc requests and projects to aid the development of project controls.
    • Assist with monthly and quarterly revenue analysis and project schedules.
    • Help establish and maintain policies and procedures.
    • Perform functions such as accounts payable and payroll.
    • Collaborate with management to understand budget implication and implement planning strategies for accounting issues (i.e. payroll, trip reconciliation, revenue).
    • Upholds and enforces the interpretation of the RTC Client Contract, as well as the respective Collective Bargaining Agreements.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

    Skills and Knowledge Required:

     

    • 1-3 years of accounting and people management
    • 1-3 years working directly with ADP
    • Accounting management in Transportation (i.e. Bus, Truck, Public, or Private) preferred but not required
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas preferred but not required
    • Willing to research and resolve accounting issues
    • Uncompromising attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
    • Proactive problem-solving and addressing issues in a professional and effective manner.
    • Taking pride in meeting deadlines and exceeding expectation on quality and output.
    • Ability to delegate and prioritize effectively and work well with subordinates, employees, colleagues, RTC personnel, and project/Company leadership.
    • Ability to breakdown complex issues and tailor communication style to a range of audiences, including non-accountants, and to clearly articulate ideas, solutions and conclusions.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
