  • Overview

    Lead Schedulers are responsible for daily supervision and coaching of schedulers on the floor and at remote locations.

    Responsibilities

    • Reviewing schedule creation and modifications produced by schedulers for inefficiencies and policy violations (capacity violations, on-time violations, ride time violations, etc. where applicable) and making adjustments to resolve these
    • Providing individualized coaching to schedulers as necessary (beyond required training, as defined in the curriculum) to ensure issues are addressed
    • Resolve routine scheduling staffing issues, including covering breaks, staff tardiness or absence, and reassigning staff or modifying the staffing schedules as needed to maintain performance.
    • Working with the Service Analysis & Planning Manager to ensure scheduling staff schedules are properly placed in the day relative to batching schedule (historically, this has been later in the day)
    • Meet with the Dispatch & Scheduling Manager on a regular basis
    • Perform the duties of schedulers when needed and possible without compromising primary Lead Scheduler duties
    • Add new subscriptions that are requested by customers or that are on a wait list, following the MBTA guidelines

    Qualifications

    Education Required:

    • High school diploma or GED

    Experience Required:

    • Three years of relevant experience, preferably in the paratransit industry
    • Experience supervising others

    Skills and Knowledge Required:

    • Excellent knowledge of the service area streets, landmarks, and institutions, including all major trip generators and transfer points
    • Excellent knowledge of traffic patterns and their impact on paratransit operations
    • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office
    • Ability to learn new software
    • Ability to work flexible hours
