  • Overview

    The Streetcar Supervisor is responsible for the daily streetcar operation and managing the operator staff.


    • Investigates Customer Service Complaints in timely manner
    • Instructs Operators on policies and procedures
    • Responds to accident and incident scenes, investigates and provides detailed reports
    • Administers post- accident, reasonable cause and random drug and alcohol tests
    • Assists in labor related disputes including grievances
    • Administers provision of the labor agreement within the realm of authority
    • Communicates with other departments within Transdev as well as the Agency
    • Assists Operations Manager with special projects as assigned
    • Provides written reports concerning rules violations
    • Administers disciplinary action as directed
    • May perform some maintenance related tasks to ensure service continuity
    • Assist customers at ticket vending machines
    • Interacts with Customers and non- customers and provides information as requested
    • Observes infrastructure OTS, poles and tracks reporting conditions
    • Throws switches and flags streetcars
    • Manages the substation SCADA control console as required
    • Provides Streetcar dispatching as required
    • Other duties as required.



    Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Valid Driver’s License in good standing
    • College education preferred, but not required


    • Previous supervisory experience
    • Previous experience directly related to transit/public transportation
    • Rail Transportation related operations and supervision strongly preferred


    Skills and Knowledge Required:

    • Ability to work within a union environment
    • Skills in composing reports and correspondence
    • Ability to work effectively with others
    • Clear verbal communications skills
    • Ability to use personal computer with office software including Outlook, Excel and Word
    • Ability to read, interpret documents, safety and work related rules, operating instructions and procedures
    • Ability to work independently
    • Must be able to learn and operate a streetcar
    • Must be able and willing to provide training
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
    • Must maintain an even-tempered disposition under stressful circumstances


    Pre-Employment Requirements:

    • Successfully pass a drug and alcohol screen, DMV Check, criminal background check and verification of previous employment


    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to be stand and walk for prolong periods of time
    • Work in environment with seasonal temperatures changes shifting between hot and cold weather
    • Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
