    Transit Mechanics needed in Monmouth County, NJ

     

    Transdev is actively seeking ASE certified technicians for their Fixed Route transportation services in Monmouth County, NJ. We are looking for qualified and experienced fleet technicians to diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment, with daily safety inspections, under general supervision.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs transit vehicle maintenance that are compliant with Transdev standards
    • Inspects, diagnoses, services and/or repairs all assigned transit vehicles and related mechanical equipment  
    • Ensures accurate upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs as needed
    • Coaches and monitors team members on the work team
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
      Maintenance experience with all types of heavy duty transit equipment
    • For Mechanic C level: less than 2 years
    • Must be able to diagnose and repair some of the vehicles and equipment in service with supervision.
    • Must be capable and willing to learn more difficult tasks from Mechanics A and B.
    • Must possess a CDL license with air brakes and passenger endorsement or have the ability and willingness to obtain one.
    • Will work under direct supervision.

    • 10% of work is accomplished in doors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities.
    • 90% of work is accomplished open garage facility/outdoors.
    • Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
