The Operations Manager performs complex professional and administrative work in planning, directing, control and evaluation of the offices, operations and programs of the facility. Responsible for the supervision of the Operations Department and also general staff duties. The Operations Manager will supervise day-to-day operations and administrative activities by providing liaison between client and company, handle problem solving between departments and resolve employee grievances, and coordinate the scheduling for both operators and supervisors in the operations department. Additionally, they will interact with the union representing the employees with the goal of positive interaction.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the General Manager will oversee and direct all aspects of Fixed and Para Bus Service delivery within the location.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of an efficient, effective and safe fixed route and paratransit transportation system.
  • Assist General Manager in developing and executing programs to improve service quality, reduce cost, increase employee productivity, and increase revenue and ridership.
  • Other duties as required.


Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

Education: This position requires:                

  • College degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) year’s management experience in a Fixed and Paratransit environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ADA, public management and organization systems, methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments
  • Ability to understand sound fiscal financial principles.
  • Thorough knowledge of the basic laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation.
  • Ability to analyze a variety of complex administrative problems to make sound recommendations for their solutions Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other officials, employees, labor and the public, ability to work effectively with labor.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates


Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Ability to work in Office Suite
  • Route Match (preferred)
  • Execute and read run cuts
  • Communication skills through verbal and written (for example e-mails) 


Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Drug testing and background check
  • Testing related to job requirements


Physical Requirements:

  • Drivers for example have lifting requirements in passenger assistance
