Overview

 The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, communicating, and enforcing safety policies and procedures at the transit location.  The Safety Manager holds primary responsibility for all training, analysis, risk assessment, and claims handling for a property.   This opportunity supports the Anaheim Resort Transportation Shuttle, which provides transportation to the Disneyland Resort among other destinations. 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains adequate staffing levels
  • Ensures that staff is adequately trained and understands and executes on safety and security standards
  • Ensures compliance with all company, client, and Department of Transportation regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures that all reporting and risk management tools are up-to-date and correct at all times
  • Ensures contract compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations; ensures that related record keeping and reporting requirements are met and maintained; provides support in implementing the approved recommendations
  • Selects, hires, and trains qualified candidates for employment.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:

  • High School Diploma

Experience Required:

  • 3 or more years of recent experience managing safety at a transit bus or shuttle service environment.

 

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA standards, NIMS and ADA requirements
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier, Transit Security Administration, and Federal Transportation Administration rules and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and explain regulations to others
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills

Travel requirement (as a percent): <5% for occasional meetings

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Must submit to drug testing and a criminal background check

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities
  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
