Overview

The Fleet Maintenance System Administrator will lead the Technical Service group’s effort in providing support to the Maintenance operations.  The goal of this position will be to improve departmental efficiencies by assisting with maintaining standardized databases in the fleet maintenance system, monitoring administrative functions, and developing Maintenance support personnel.   This position will also work with our Maintenance Information System provider, Ron Turley Associates(RTA), on a day to day basis to ensure maximum operational efficiency of the system.  

 

We are open to the possibility of this role being remote, but prefer the individual to be based out of the Corporate HQ in Lombard, IL.    

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create, control and update the master file information within Ron Turley Associates Maintenance Information System
  • Create and control Maintenance Information System (RTA) user authorities and profiles
  • Manage Maintenance Information System (RTA) updates and maintenance
  • Monitor stores room activity regarding inventory and warranty
  • Develop procedures and best practices for garage administrative functions
  • Monitor Maintenance Information System (RTA) utilization and efficiency
  • Co-ordinate system training with Maintenance Information System provider (RTA) and the field.
  • Assist the field with Maintenance Information System (RTA) troubleshooting
  • Assist with new location start-ups and location closures
  • Assist in the development of Maintenance support personnel
  • Audit location RTA efficiency/utilization and develop improvement plans

  

 

Qualifications

 Experience Required:

  • 3 years minimum experience with Ron Turley Associates(RTA) system with demonstrated knowledge of all RTA applications

Experience Preferred:

  • 3 years minimum experience in a parts room environment preferred
  • Previous system training experience 

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of inventory control, warranty recovery, shipping and receiving.
  • Preferred general knowledge of spare parts specifications and vendors
  • Preferred general knowledge of transit vehicle specifications
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral

Travel as a percent:  50%
