Overview

The position of Software Implementation Specialist is responsible for deploying, training and supporting Transdev software systems including VDS, Shadow, Vision, and Driver Line.  The position requires the ability to work closely with each location to determine their specific operating criteria to be able to set-up the software to function properly for their service contract.  This position reports to the Director of Implementation. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic project management for software implementation. Work with the implementation team to develop a project plan and timeline.  Provide ongoing support throughout the project.  Provide regular status reports to the site General Manager and Director of Implementation to ensure that project goals and timelines are met.
  • Assist in the development of training material, guides, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other documentation that can be used by sites to ensure that best practices are being followed.
  • Solve or assist with problem resolutions encountered by system users, both onsite and remote, working closely with technology support to ensure all hardware is properly functioning to support the technology.
  • Provide onsite and remote training for locations staff using Transdev best practices.
  • Assist the Help Desk Manager with technical issues and software testing as needed.
  • Independently maintains their schedule and accomplishment of goals.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

  • Education: This position requires High school diploma or GED equivalent or equivalent professional experience
  • Education Preferred: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field or work experience equivalent to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. 

Experience Required:

  • One year of supervisory experience in any field

Experience Preferred:

  • One year of experience in the transit industry, most specifically in a fixed route operation

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Available to be on call 24/7 to assist in computer network emergency situations
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment with competing demands and timelines.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and manage system-wide software upgrades, deployments and interfaces
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization and interpersonal skills essential. Must have the ability to prioritize and deal with time pressures and daily system problems.
  • Travel required up to 50% of the time

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • You must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities
  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
