Transdev is seeking Safety and Training Manager in Attleboro.

Become a part of the Transdev team as a Safety and Training Manager at Attleboro. This position will be responsible for developing, communicating, and enforcing safety policies and procedures at the transit location in compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Transdev policies.

  • Designing, administering and overseeing a comprehensive training program for designated employees.
  • Developing, establishing and promoting the maintenance of a safe, accident free and healthy working environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, local and company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Recommending measures to reduce accidents and hazards and assure that safety inspections are properly scheduled, carried out, monitored, acted upon and documented.
  • Adhering to company standards, coordinating the activities of on-the-job-injury and light duty personnel, workers' compensation retraining.
  • Assisting in the hiring process.
  • Preparing monthly reports documenting safety and training performance, and other reports as required.
  • Providing continuous safety surveillance and supervision
  • Investigating all accidents, incidents, & injuries, preparing written reports and implementing appropriate corrective actions
  • Providing timely written reports of any observed unsafe conditions or practices or job security violations and initiating corrective actions
  • Responsible for the control, availability and use of necessary safety equipment, including personal protective equipment and apparel for employees
  • Maintain records of Road Supervisor activity (driveway inspections, special requests, etc)
  • Ensuring awareness of all site personnel of emergency procedures, including telephone numbers, safety locations and first aid equipment
  • Maintaining inventory of safety posters, accident prevention signs and other literature to employees
  • Documenting all training programs and maintaining proper records of training, certifications and administration
  • Ensuring the proper certification of all operations and maintenance staff for their job classifications
  • Briefing and retraining employees after accidents or incidents or injuries
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager


Education and Licensing Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • College degree preferred
  • Must possess a Commercial Drivers License with appropriate endorsements
  • Must possess and maintain certifications in the following areas: Wheelchair Securement, child passenger safety, reasonable suspicion, safety programs, TAPTCO instructor, defensive driving, Precision Driving Skills Program Training, Accident Responder & Supervisor Injury Investigation

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Five years of experience in training or safety
  • Must maintain an excellent motor vehicle record
  • Must be able to operate all types of transit vehicles
  • Must understand state guidelines concerning CDL licensing programs
  • Must have at least 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of the fixed route system and DAR service areas is preferred


Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work shifts or flexible work schedules indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities
  • Long periods of sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen in an office or in a cubicle space
