The Part Time Service Attendant must be able to perform basic shop duties. They must also be able to perform detail cleaning and fueling of equipment with limited supervision. Additionally, the Service Attendant may be asked to complete basic forms and fare box duties (i.e., diagnostic, repair, installation). Finally, they must possess a valid CDL license with air brakes and passenger endorsement or be able to obtain one. Required to work shifts

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cash revenue from fare boxes in vehicles at the facility.
  • Responsible for moving or positioning a variety of equipment including Transit buses.
  • Will perform basic troubleshooting of two way radio units if requested.
  • Will be responsible for revenue and non-revenue auto fleet cleanliness and general good appearance.
  • Responsible for basic shop and housekeeping duties.
  • Other duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the facility.
  • Responsible for checking fluid levels daily and adjusting as needed.

Qualifications

 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of shop safety standards and protective clothing.
  • Must have a strong commitment and belief safety.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess a CDL with airbrakes or be able to obtain one.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to perform without constant or immediate supervision.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts which could include holidays.
  • Ability to work on a team.

  • Less than 10% of work is accomplished in doors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities.
  • Greater than 90% of work is accomplished open garage facility.
  • Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • May be asked to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
  • May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, you will have access to safety protective gear.
